To increase the awareness of regional stakeholders for the benefits of RES on 9 June a training sessin took place in Bucharest within the frame of Support_ers project (http://www.support-ers.eu/). Focus of the training in Bucharest has been the use of biomass and especially of waste for energetic purposes. During the seminar, international RES experts discussed best practice examples and RES support mechanisms. Mr Franck managing Director of BioWerk of the Climate Alliance Member City of Hamburg had a presentation on the "ENERGETIC USE OF BIOMASS IN THE CITY OF HAMBURG" with emphasis on the biogas plant Stellinger Moor Hamburg. Around 30 participants, municipalities, NGOs and from the research community have been present in the training.
A part of the role of Climate Alliance in the project is to facilitate the cooperation between local authorities in the area of renewable energies. Seminars in Slovakia, Estonia, Croatia, Poland and Bulgaria will follow.
