Handing over results to Environmental Ministers of Austria and Germany
Ministers welcome the efforts of 128,000 children on their
symbolic journey around the world to protect the global climate
Bali / Frankfurt am Main. Climate Alliance of European Cities presented 1,457,039 “Green Footprints” to save the world’s climate to Enviroment Ministers Sigmar Gabriel, Germany and Josef Pröll, Austria during the UN Climate Change Conference 2007 in Bali. 20 children from the Sunrise School in Kerobokan on Bali handed them over on behalf of more than 128,000 children aged 4 to 10 years old from all over Europe. One Green Footprint was awarded for each journey made by children using a sustainable means of transport during Climate Alliance’s campaign “ZOOM – Kids on the Move for the World’s Climate 2007...

Handing over results in Bali
European children undertook a symbolic journey that stretched 36 times around the world to protect the global climate
Bali / Frankfurt am Main. During the UN Climate Change Conference 2007 in Bali, Indonesia, the Climate Alliance presented 1,457,039 “Green Footprints” to save the world’s climate to UNFCCC Executive Secretary Yvo de Boer. 20 children from Sunrise School in Kerobokan on Bali handed them over on behalf of more than 128,000 children aged 4 to 10 years old. One Green Footprint was awarded for each journey made by children using a sustainable means of transport during Climate Alliance’s campaign “ZOOM – Kids on the Move for the World’s Climate 2007...

“After French Polynesia TOPtoTOP has now collected „Green Footprints, together with pupils in Samoa, Tonga, Wallis, Fiji and Vanuata.
The children in these five countries live on afield islands. On the island Savaii in the village Asau, the schoolgirl Laitu Mekisateku has informed us in written form on the injustice the climate warming constitutes. She complains about the rich countries, especially the USA, that produce very much CO2 but they on the islands therefore suffer from cyclones and the rising sea level.
On the island Makogai in the Koro Sea near Fiji, we accompanied the pupils from our anchor bay to school to speak about renewable energies. The children’s way is 2,5 hours to school and ..."

ZOOMing in during the European Mobility Week (EMW)
Thousands of children are collecting Green Footprints during the European Mobility Week. In Luxembourg 8,000 participants are ZOOMing in for Greng Meilen from Sept. 16.-22. Also the main activities in the Netherlands will take place in this specified period. There children in more than 30 municipalities are collecting Groene Voetstappen. In Austria and Germany Grüne Meilen are often collected or presented to the public during the EMW.
Also schools in Italy, Poland, Portugal, Sweden and Turkey are joinig the campaign. Europewide Climate Alliance assumes 100,000 children to collect Green Footprints until the end of November.

On July 11th the Green Footprints from 12,000 participants in Schleswig-Holstein have been handed over to the Minister for the Environment Christian von Boetticher at the Landesparlament in Kiel.

On March 23rd - when everybody is talking about (world) weather( day)- the Climate Alliance of European Cities calls upon children all over Europe to ZOOM in and get into action for Climate Protection. From March until November this year, primary school and kindergarten children all over Europe are collecting Green Footprints for a symbolic journey around the world for the 6th time!
